Petrin Dermatology is staying up to date on the latest health standards for limiting the spread of the coronavirus. We are open and seeing clinical and cosmetic patients that need care.

We are taking all possible measures to keep our patients and staff safe while providing the care you need. That includes:

  • Screening all patients for respiratory illness
  • Taking temperatures of everyone who enters the office
  • Practicing social distancing guidelines for both patients and staff
  • Sterilizing all surfaces between patients
  • Requiring face masks for all patients and staff who enter the office

For patients that prefer to avoid the clinic, we offer teledermatology appointments from the comfort of your home.

In response to escalating concerns regarding your safety and the containment of COVID-19

we are encouraging our patients to move to telehealth patient appointments if they are comfortable doing so. These are virtual dermatology appointments via live video which can be done from most smart phones. The platform is called doxy.me and is HIPAA Compliant.

About Dr. Petrin

James Petrin, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist at Petrin Dermatology in Redmond, Washington, with a talent for improving patients’ skin quality and health. He readily greets patients with a warm smile as they arrive for treatment and takes the time to discuss their symptoms, treatment expectations, and preferences. He creates a success-oriented treatment approach that focuses on the person as much as their condition.

Dr. Petrin graduated with honors from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1986. He remained in Seattle to earn his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He stayed there for his internship and residency, where he also acted as chief resident in the dermatology program.

After finishing his education and going into private practice, Dr. Petrin was secretary of the Washington State Dermatology Association from 2000 to 2006.

At Petrin Dermatology, Dr. Petrin uses his talents for both clinical and cosmetic dermatology. He frequently performs chemical peels and laser procedures to improve patients’ skin tone and texture, and even provides Botox® injections to further boost patients’ confidence in the appearance of their skin. He treats skin cancer, eczema, acne, and other seemingly relentless skin conditions with a gentle hand.

When he isn’t at Petrin Dermatology effectively clearing patients’ skin of blemishes, scars, and lesions, Dr. Petrin teaches future dermatologists at his alma mater. He’s also a recent recipient of the William Baker Meritorious Service Award for his talent in education.

Why You Should Be Aware of the ABCDEs of Mole

Moles can add character and are so common you probably don’t even think about them. While you don’t typically need to worry about them, you should monitor for the ABCDEs -- signs that your mole may be a problem.
