James Petrin, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist at Petrin Dermatology in Redmond, Washington, with a talent for improving patients’ skin quality and health. He readily greets patients with a warm smile as they arrive for treatment and takes the time to discuss their symptoms, treatment expectations, and preferences. He creates a success-oriented treatment approach that focuses on the person as much as their condition.
Dr. Petrin graduated with honors from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1986. He remained in Seattle to earn his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He stayed there for his internship and residency, where he also acted as chief resident in the dermatology program.
After finishing his education and going into private practice, Dr. Petrin was secretary of the Washington State Dermatology Association from 2000 to 2006.
At Petrin Dermatology, Dr. Petrin uses his talents for both clinical and cosmetic dermatology. He frequently performs chemical peels and laser procedures to improve patients’ skin tone and texture, and even provides Botox® injections to further boost patients’ confidence in the appearance of their skin. He treats skin cancer, eczema, acne, and other seemingly relentless skin conditions with a gentle hand.
When he isn’t at Petrin Dermatology effectively clearing patients’ skin of blemishes, scars, and lesions, Dr. Petrin teaches future dermatologists at his alma mater. He’s also a recent recipient of the William Baker Meritorious Service Award for his talent in education.
