Tighten the Skin You're In With Exilis® Elite

Research suggests that over 70% of bariatric surgery patients suffer from loose skin.

But weight fluctuations aren’t the only risk factors for developing loose skin. Pregnancy and aging can also leave you with overstretched skin that simply won’t bounce back to its initial position.

So if the appearance of your skin prevents you from wearing your favorite clothing or bathing suit, fight back. Modern advancements make it possible for you to tighten your skin without going through major surgery and extensive recovery.

From the staff of Petrin Dermatology, here’s how Exilis® Elite can tighten your skin within a few sessions.

How laser technology tightens skin

Exilis Elite shoots radiofrequency waves that penetrate your skin and shrink the tissue. These waves also promote the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins responsible for keeping your skin plump and elastic.

For optimal results, you may need several sessions, but once your skin looks tight and feels rejuvenated, you can expect the results to last for up to two years.

What to expect from the procedure

Exilis Elite is a noninvasive procedure that we perform on an outpatient basis. We ask you to lie down and relax while we use the device to gently heat up the problem areas.

The device has built-in cooling so it won’t get hot after just a few minutes of use. Most of our patients report no discomfort.

The entire procedure takes around 25-30 minutes. In the meantime, you can catch up with what’s happening on social media on your smartphone or enjoy reading an article on your tablet. After the procedure, you can go back to your daily routine.

Satisfaction rates and results

Studies suggest that Exilis Elite can stimulate both elastin and collagen production in the skin.

When researchers looked under the microscope at the skin tissues treated with radiofrequency waves, they found that sustained heating led to a full collagen remodeling. Researchers also noticed an increase in elastin production in the skin tissue.

The average age for the study participants was 57, which shows that skin thickness and elasticity can be improved by this technology even after collagen and elastin production has decreased.
